Times are tough, the economy is slow, auditions are far and few in between, agents are not taking on new clients and things seem to get tougher and tougher, but all this means absolutely nothing when you look in the eyes of a young innocent child afflicted with a horrible disease like cancer.  I could tell you numerous statistics on the ever-growing number of young children getting this horrible disease but it means nothing.  You, need to go to Children’s Hospital, look in their eyes, and see the hope that they have when they look into ours.

Their hope is that we can cure them so they can leave and be outside and play with their friends.  “We” is the doctor, the nurse, the mother, the father, the grandfather, a friend, anyone, that their young innocent eyes can land on.  And, I want to be that friend who can help cure them and because I have no medical skills, nor magical wand, to do so, I can only do the next best thing, for all the children, which is help, raise the funds that are necessary in these tough times to help with the cure for children’s cancer.  And, this is why, I decided to refocus my attention and help with the fundraising.  So yes, you are right; this is another email asking you to donate.

I Christina DeRosa, am asking you to donate.  To donate for that child, who is undergoing chemo, or tomorrow will undergo an operation.  Please, understand that we are far more fortunate then they are.  That, we unless you are a child, are far more fortunate then they are, for we were given the chance to play with our friends, but they may not.

I signed up with Rally for Kids with Cancer.  It is a great way to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, an international leading Pediatrics children’s hospital that cures children, adolescents, while helping their families by offering an integrated medical care.  And, Padres Contra El Cancer, an organization devoted in helping Latino children and their families navigate our convoluted medical health care system by promoting a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders as well as effective methods for their treatment.
